ASHEPA President Calls for Greater Member Participation

Following the announcement, the President encouraged members to take a more active role in ASHEPA’s committees, taskforces, professional programmes and volunteering activities.

He emphasised that the Association’s achievements depend on the willingness of members to contribute their expertise, time and experience.

“One message I want every ASHEPA member to take from this achievement is that opportunities are created through commitment and active participation.

“Today, some of our colleagues have the opportunity to represent ASHEPA at an international conference in Europe. Tomorrow, the next person selected to represent our Association on a similar platform could be any of our members.

“I therefore encourage everyone to become actively involved. Join a committee, volunteer for an assignment, contribute your professional knowledge and support our programmes. Every contribution matters, and every member has a role to play in the future of ASHEPA.”

The President further noted that volunteering offers members valuable opportunities to develop professional competencies, demonstrate leadership and establish relationships with colleagues and institutions beyond their respective countries.

Advancing ASHEPA’s International Engagement

The conference participation comes as ASHEPA continues to expand its professional activities and international relationships, with emphasis on education, research, knowledge exchange and institutional cooperation.

The Association considers international engagement an important means of promoting African expertise while learning from established professional institutions and contributing to improved occupational health and safety standards.

ASHEPA remains committed to building a professional community where members can participate meaningfully in initiatives that advance workplace safety, occupational health and environmental protection across Africa and internationally.
